From Athens

By car

Car Rental companies are available at the airport as well as in other areas of Greece. The journey by car is about a 5 hour drive from Eleftherios Venizelos airport but of course this varies depending on the time of day, year and on the familiarity of the area.

 

By coach

 

During peak season , in the months of July and August there are daily bus routes from the coach terminal (KTEL) to Papadianika (a neighbouring village). Plytra is only 10 minutes from Papadianika and local taxi services are available if this is arranged beforehand with the owner of Alkyones. At other times of the year the coach routes are not as regular so please contact the coach terminal in Athens or Molaoi to find out about departure dates and times.

By taxi

 

Taxi services are available and local taxi drivers can pick you up from the airport or any other location in Athens and transport you directly to Alkyones at a very reasonable price. Please arrange this with us before your arrival.

By ferry/flying dolphin

 

Plytra is not accessible by ferry boat or flying dolphin but you can get to Neapoli or Gytheion by ferryboat/ship from Pireaus port. From there you can either, rent a car and drive to Plytra (about 60 minutes away from Gytheio and 40 minutes from Neapoli) take the coach from the station in Gytheio or Neapoli or we can arrange to have a taxi bring you to Plytra from any address in Athens or Pireaus if you notify us a few days ahead of time.
